Former Vine chief Jason Toff leaves Google to participate in Facebook, where he "launches a new initiative among the recently formed NPE team." Facebook last week announced the new NPE team (it stands for "new product experiments") last week, as a brand that is going to develop experimental apps for consumers who are somewhat removed from the Facebook core brand.
Now that we've moved to CA, I think it's a good time to share what I'm going to do now! In two weeks I will join Facebook as PM director who will launch a new initiative under the newly formed NPE team (https://t.co/HzK6Bjqzqx)

Toff left Vine (and Twitter) earlier in 2016 to join Google, where he worked on VR projects and later on Google's internal Area 120 incubator (similar in concept to the NPE team at Facebook) . Given his previous work on smaller, new app initiatives and his time-leading Vine, Toff seems a natural fit for all the experimental new services that Facebook uses with its NPE apps.
Toff sees the news as the first big name associated with Facebook & # 39; s NPE team, and it doesn't sound like the company is stopping there. Toff noted on Twitter in his announcement that although he cannot reveal what he is working on, he wants to hire a team of UX designers and engineers to work on the project – maybe Facebook wants some from Byte & # 39; s Vine steal successor thunder?
