Motorcyclist Fabrice Miguet suffered "non-recoverable" injuries after an accident at the Ulster Grand Prix, confirmed the Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club.

The 49-year-old Frenchman is still alive at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast after Saturday's accident, but a statement published on Sunday confirmed that he will not survive the injuries.

He said: "It is with great sadness that Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club confirms that, while Fabrice Miguet remains with life support, we understand that the medical expectation is that he has suffered injuries that can not survive.

"The 49-year-old pilot from Normandy, France, was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital after an incident in the Joey & # 39; s Windmill section during the Superstock race at the Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday, August 11.

As originally reported by Belfast Live, Miguet was involved in a derivation in the fourth round of his career in Northern Ireland, which led to the race suspended for an hour.

The Kawasaki / Optrimark Road Racing driver was a regular competitor in both the annual Ulster Grand Prix and the Isle of Man TT.
