F1 23 launch date officially revealed

Date:

EA announced that the F1 23 racing game will be officially available next June 16 across PS5, Xbox Series, and PC devices, and will feature the return of the Braking Point single-player story mode along with a new set of gameplay and improved quality of life.

This latest chapter will follow the careers of champion Devon Butler and teammate Aiden Jackson as they struggle to compete with real-world racing legends as part of Team Konnersport.

Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at development company Codemasters, commented in a press release:

The return of Braking Point allows players to immerse themselves in a racing story, which provides a unique look at F1 along with the original racing features our players know and love.

Mather also explained:

Our close relationship with the F1 teams has allowed us to improve our handling model, add more realism to gameplay, while implementing a new color-coding system used in film and TV that creates a more realistic experience.

According to EA, F1 23’s gameplay will be a big step up from its predecessors in terms of physics and racing handling, which comes as a direct result of feedback from real-world F1 teams.

Codemasters made a number of improvements to the vehicle’s engine torque and inertia while also addressing the balance between aerodynamics and tire stability based on the team’s feedback.

F1 23 will feature every car, driver and track from the 2023 season of the popular F1 sport, including racetracks at the Las Vagas Grand Prix and Losail International Circuit, Qatar.
