Ezra Mam left rehab in a big step on his way back to the football field after police charged him with driving under drugs when he allegedly failed a roadside drug test following a car accident in October.
The 21-year-old had been admitted to the facility just under a month ago after being involved in a traffic incident in Brisbane in which his Ford Ranger van collided with an Uber in a head-on collision.
Mum returned home on Monday after staying at a wellness center in Brisbane since October, according to The daily telegraph.
The outlet adds that Mam has paid more than $100,000 in fees for her stay at the wellness center.
Police charged him with driving while having a relevant drug in his blood system and driving without a license after he had allegedly tested positive for an illegal drug following the accident.
Police had given the Brisbane star a roadside drug test after the incident and he had reportedly tested positive.

The Brisbane star had checked himself into the wellness center after being involved in a road traffic collision in October.

Mom also received a traffic violation notice for failing to maintain control of her vehicle.
A mother and her daughter were passengers in the Uber at the time of the collision. The mother claimed she and her four-year-old daughter were forced to go to the hospital and claimed her daughter had broken her hip in the collision.
It is understood no pleas have been entered and the NRL player is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 16.
Mam, who signed a four-year contract reportedly worth $4 million, is “unlikely” to make an appearance at the Broncos’ training camp in Red Hill until 2025.
“I understand the seriousness of the situation,” Mam told News Corp last week after charges were brought against him.
‘I understand how important it is for me to stand up and take responsibility for my actions.
‘I will cooperate with the upcoming legal process.
“I also understand my responsibilities as a role model in the community and am prepared to work hard to live up to those expectations in the future.”
It is understood no pleas have been entered and the NRL player is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 16.
The NRL Integrity Unit has been investigating the matter. There is a possibility that the runner could be suspended for at least two months and face a hefty fine.
The Broncos have already returned to pre-season training, but Mam will not be present as new boss Michael Maguire has been putting his troops through a rigorous training camp ahead of the start of the 2025 season.
Brisbane chief executive Dave Donaghy issued a statement on Mam’s situation: “This afternoon the club was notified that charges have now been laid.
‘We will respect the legal process and continue to work with the NRL Integrity Unit on next steps as this matter progresses.
‘Ezra is currently seeking external support and we will give him the time and space to do so.
“As the matter is now before the courts, we cannot comment further.”
