Jamie Carragher took a step away from his pundit role to showcase his talents on the football pitch on Friday night – but not in the way you might expect!
The Liverpool legend, who was part of the Sky Sports broadcast team for the Premier League clash between Leicester and Nottingham Forest, took part in a fun challenge before kick-off.
Carragher was seen dressed as Forest’s ‘Robin Hood’ mascot before taking part in a foot race around the King Power Stadium against Leicester mascot Filbert Fox.
The hilarious incident was caught on camera when Carragher beat his rival to the finish line before losing his foot and slipping.
In a video that circulated unknownCarragher’s shoes could be seen flying during the race, causing him to lose his balance and fall at the end.

Carragher then took part in a fun race against Leicester’s mascot, Filbert the Fox.
Carragher won, despite both shoes coming off, before slipping and falling.
Reflecting on the incident with co-writers Kelly Cates and Gary Neville, he said: “What do we always say on this show? ‘Find a way to win.’
‘We say this about the best teams. They don’t usually beat me on Friday nights. They came off but the head was so big I couldn’t see where they were going with my peripheral vision.
Neville replied: ‘Do you know Sky asked Leicester if he could go in the Fox suit and they said no? “They rejected me to be a pet.”
Carragher’s adventure as a football mascot comes shortly after the Liverpool legend appeared as a guest on Mail Sport’s Soccer AZ podcast.
During which, former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher revealed the hilarious way his now Sky employers make fun of him – and it wasn’t with a mascot costume.
Carragher referenced footage of Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola distancing himself from the former Reds defender during his playing days.
I’m supposed to be one of your top experts and you’re ridiculing me! he explained jokingly.
Carragher lost his balance when he reached the finish line, but still won the race.
The Liverpool legend was in good spirits and later shared a cheeky smile with Filbert the Fox.
Shortly after the race, Carragher returned to his typical pundit role and provided pre-crash analysis at the King Power Stadium.
As things stand, Nottingham Forest sit in eighth place after a relatively strong start to the campaign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
Meanwhile, the Foxes sit in 14th place and just four points behind Forest.
