LG is one of the biggest names in household appliances, but that doesn't mean they don't use the cheaper part of the market.
Their $ 1,199 LG WTG1032WF top-loader received a spin efficiency score of 78 percent and a dirt removal score of 75 percent.
A $ 2,495 Speed Queen AWNA62 with the same function, meanwhile, came in with a water efficiency score of just 16 percent.
The waste removal score was a more respectable 54 percent, but even that was lower than the 75 percent from LG.
One of the biggest price differences in the latest consumer interest group survey came in the bedroom category – with a $ 499 Wonderest mattress that cost $ 2000 less than a SleepMaker Miracoil product.

But while the latter promises superior backbone support and energy-absorbing properties, the survey participants failed.
Testers gave the new product a comfort score of only 39 percent, while male and female participants gave the Wonderest version scores of 95 and 98 percent.
The Dyson vacuum cleaners are known to play a pioneering role in the field of new technology, but the last survey did not go well.
Ultra Pro Powerhead VX59 from the lower manufacturer Vax costs only $ 269, but registered a cleaning performance score of 76 percent.
Dyson's vacuum cleaners are known to be the latest technology, but one (photo left Dysons $ 999 Cinetic Big Ball Animalpro) did not do well in the latest survey (photo right a cheaper Vax Ultra Pro Powerhead VX59 for $ 269)
For comparison: Dyson's Cinetic Big Ball Animalpro got $ 999 a meager 50 percent in the same category.
Chris Barnes, the dust expert from CHOICE, said that while Dyson was better for barrel and standing vacuum cleaners, their superiority did not apply to all categories.
The Miele H 6290 B is labeled by the brand as a leader in energy efficient and easy to clean ovens.
But despite the high price tag of $ 7,399, it did not perform well with testers, who gave the product a grill score of 55 percent and 61 percent for ease of use.
The much cheaper $ 1,049 alternative from Fisher & Paykel gives you a fraction of the price and received a 96 percent performance score and full figures for baking.

As with the oven, a $ 2,699 Miele KFN 12823 offers attractive qualities such as easy cleaning – but testers found it inferior to a $ 699 version of the Chinese brand Changhong.
The product description of the latter promises crisper, fresher food and it did not disappoint in the new reviews.
For the ability to keep food fresh for longer, it received a score of 75 percent, while the more expensive Miele refrigerator was 52 percent.
Testers also did not like the default setting of the Miele alternative – which they said was too hot for fresh food – and gave it a temperature stability score of 40 percent.
