As the cost of living rises for households across the country, the UK is predicted to be in recession for most of 2023 due to rising inflation and rising interest rates.
Despite this looming recession, reports suggest a surprise surge in property demand in January, with house prices rising 0.9 percent compared to December, when prices fell for a fourth straight month.
However, real estate experts Savills suggest that 2023 could be a rough ride for the real estate market, with predictions of house prices falling by 10 percent across the country.
Of course, this is bad news for those considering selling their home, because even without the recession, most homes will need some general refresh and cleaning before selling.
