Expert reveals what really happened with Taylor Swift’s ‘possessed’ piano

Date:

A piano expert has weighed in on what could have happened with Taylor Swift’s keyboard when he became “possessed” during a recent concert on his Eras tour.

The pop superstar, 33, looked visibly shocked when her piano started playing on its own as she was about to start Red (Taylor’s Version) on Sunday as she shouted to the crowd: ‘I don’t didn’t play that!”

As the piano continued to make sounds, a horrified Taylor covered her face and wondered if it was just her hearing it, asking the fans, “Oh my god, do you hear that?” Does this happen to you guys too?’

Now, piano technician Joe Wieneck, who works with the New York Piano Academy, has shared some theories about what was wrong with Taylor’s piano at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

A piano technician has spoken out after a recent gig on Taylor Swift’s Eras tour took a chilling turn this week when her ‘possessed’ piano started playing on its own

He said that while it was hard to tell what type of instrument it was, exactly, it appeared to be a piano or a hybrid keyboard with playback functionality.

“It may have had a case that makes it look like a piano, but it’s a hybrid piano or a keyboard that has some kind of playback unit,” Joe told DailyMail.com.

“My best guess is that there was some misfire or malfunction of this playback on this keyboard.”

As for how this playback system works, the expert said, “Like those old player pianos from the early 20th century, it can play a record or like a roll.

“But modern pianos obviously have electronic and computerized means of controlling the piano or keyboard to play itself without anyone pressing the keys.”

“Inside…there is another way to activate…the whole mechanism that creates a string to ring, to vibrate.”

During the spooky moment, Taylor explained that the piano allegedly malfunctioned due to rain water damage when she played an entire three-and-a-half-hour show at Gillette Stadium in the rain earlier this week.

‘[The water] clearly broke my keyboard because [the keyboard] was literally underwater, so it’s broken. she told fans.

“I didn’t know how the instruments worked last night. So it’s broken, I’m just going to get the guitar. It’s going to be good.’

And Joe said water damage was definitely a possibility if it was a type of hybrid piano and soaking would have interfered with its electronics.

However, a source close to Taylor’s tour insisted to DailyMail.com that the keyboard is not equipped with a play function, saying the piano was malfunctioning due to rain – and nothing more.

“There was water pooling under the key(s), from rain the previous night, which caused the ignition sensor to malfunction,” the insider explained. ‘The keyboard used is not programmable for reading.’

Still, the malfunction sent fans into a frenzy, with trolls accusing him of “pretending” to play the piano, prompting fans to fire back.

A defender said: ‘If you think of all the people that Taylor Swift doesn’t play the piano on her own, you need therapy.

One comment read, “People will say the piano was lip-syncing but I say mother.”

Meanwhile, others were convinced it was one of Taylor’s famous Easter eggs.
