EXCLUSIVE: Tori Spelling has left her close friends ‘sick with worry’ after going AWOL amid her split from Dean McDermott, who thinks their kids ‘should be home’ and NOT staying with her in $100-a-night motels

Tori Spelling’s close friends are “very concerned” about the actress who went AWOL amid her split from Dean McDermott, ignoring her friends’ calls and texts and even missing events to promote her new home decor line.

According to sources close to the 50-year-old woman, who was recently seen staying in a $100-a-night motel with her five children, it has been incredibly difficult to contact her in recent weeks, ever since news of her impending divorce from Dean, 56, broke.

“Tori hasn’t returned calls and has gone AWOL, which has close friends very concerned,” the friend told DailyMail.com.

The source further revealed that Tori’s estranged husband Dean has serious concerns about his wife staying in a motel with their children: Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, six.

Tori wasn’t on set at QVC this week for the highly-anticipated launch of her BFF Collection home décor product line with Jennie and Tori.

“Dean is also talking about a problem with the children who are with Tori in these motels,” they said. ‘He thinks the kids should be home and not motel hopping with Tori. he just thinks this isn’t what’s best for them right now.’

Last week, Tori revealed that she and 90210 alum Jennie Garth, 51, were launching their own line of home décor products with QVC, called the BFF Collection with Jennie and Tori.

However, a day before the official launch, Jennie was seen on the set of QVC to promote the brand without her co-founder Tori, whose absence was made clear in an Instagram post shared by beauty brand founder Mally Roncal, which featured a picture of her and Jennie along with the caption, “Loved spending time with @JennieGarth (missed you @ToriSpelling).”

Representatives for Tori and Dean did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

On June 16, Dean announced in a since-deleted Instagram post saying, “It is with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own.”

The statement continued, ‘We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children during this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.’

Several days later, the notorious troublemaker star was photographed unloading suitcases and other belongings at a friend’s house. In the photos of her, she clearly looked distraught with all five children in tow.

Dean was then seen moving his belongings into the storage room, while Tori was photographed wearing a ‘Boys Lie’ t-shirt.

Motel California: Tori and her children recently stayed at this $100-a-night motel due to an alleged ‘mold infestation’ in the home

On July 8, Tori and her children were photographed leaving a $100-a-night motel in Los Angeles, which she blamed on an alleged “mold problem” at her family’s marital home.

The source said: “Tori and Dean are doing great and her staying in a hotel with her kids has nothing to do with a split.”

“They decided to stay there because of the ongoing mold problem in their house. Tori is taking this matter very seriously and is not going to subject herself or her children to it.’

In a video obtained by DailyMail.com, Tori apparently confirmed that she and Dean had broken up, saying: “I’ve always looked better alone.”

When asked about her decision to stay at the motel amid the mold infestation, she replied: ‘Are you a mother? You know that you would do everything possible for your children, right?

The couple have been dogged for years by split rumors and both were spotted without their wedding rings throughout 2021, the same year Tori admitted they had been sleeping in separate rooms.

The duo, who first met on the set of a Canadian television show in 2005 when Dean was married to Mary Jo Eustace and Tori to Charlie Shanian, struggled to save their marriage before throwing in the towel.

For years, every aspect of the roller coaster romance played out in a very bitter and public way on her various reality shows, which included Tori & Dean: Inn Love, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings, and noTORIous.

In recent years, Dean has improved his acting career, but he felt that despite doing his best to keep her happy, his efforts were never reciprocated.

Tori had been pushing Dean to secure more roles in order to ‘support’ their family, but she was less than thrilled when those jobs took him out of the house.

In 2021, Dean he landed a major role as detective Barry Hamm on the Canadian television show Pretty Hard Cases. That same year, he starred with Sarah Hyland and Dylan Sprouse in My Fake Boyfriend.

“She wanted him to start working and bring home money to support his family and he landed a major role on a Canadian TV series and some major movie roles,” the source said.

“She wanted him to be a better father to his children and he has devoted all of his free time to them.”

“She wanted him to be more romantic and he would go out of his way to bring her flowers, constantly showering him with gifts to show her how much he loved her and eventually went under.”

In December 2022, Tori shared photos on her social media with Dean and the kids. It was the first time in years that she had included it in her snapshots and fans were delighted to see that the two of them were working on it.

In September 2022, Tori was photographed with her mother Candy Spelling, from whom she was estranged for seven years, and her brother Randy Spelling.
