EXCLUSIVE: RHOC star Shannon Beador, 59, ‘plans to enter REHAB’ for alcoholism after her ‘wake-up call’ DUI arrest – having ‘spent years running from her problems’ and ignoring pals’ pleas for her to seek help

Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador will seek rehab treatment for alcoholism after she received a “wake-up call” when she crashed her car while driving under the influence.

The 59-year-old reality TV veteran was taken into custody on Saturday following a drunk driving crash in Newport Beach, LA, when she allegedly drove her car into a residential home before leaving the scene.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, friends of the troubled reality star have revealed how the car burglary has served as a brutal ‘wake-up call’ for the mother of three, who – according to insiders – has ignored her friends for years. ‘ begs to get help for her ‘problems’.

‘Shannon is planning to go to rehab after her DUI arrest was a huge “wake-up call” for her, an insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com.

‘Shannon has been running from her problems for the past few years and she doesn’t realize who she has become. Her castmates and her friends have told her she needs help, and this was before the DUI.”

In a video obtained by TMZ, Shannon was seen driving through a residential area before crashing into a house

Shannon “hasn’t quite decided yet whether she will undergo inpatient or outpatient treatment because she has a family to care for, a dog that needs her and her work projects,” the source added.

The news comes just hours after footage of Shannon’s crash was released by TMZ, with the clip appearing to show the reality star spiraling out of control before crashing into a house.

She is then seen slowly backing up before driving away. TMZ claims a source said she ended up parking in the middle of the street and then got out of the car with her dog.

According to the police report, officers arrived on scene and found Shannon apparently nonchalant. She ‘seemed exhausted’, eyewitnesses claim, and was subsequently taken into custody.

Newport Beach police confirmed she was booked on both the hit-and-run and DUI charges. She was released without bail.

Shannon’s lawyer, Michael Fell, told DailyMail.com: ‘Shannon is extremely apologetic and remorseful. We await official information regarding this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to take full responsibility for her actions.”

Her former RHOC co-star Kelly Dodd said she hopes the mother of three will “learn from” the arrest and become a “better” and “stronger person” as a result.

The hit-and-run DUI comes days after fans saw her castmate Gina Kirschenheiter blasting Shannon for continuing to bring up Gina’s DUI arrest, which happened four years ago. Gina has been sober for several years.

The RHOC insider exclusively told DailyMail.com, “Shannon trashed Gina over her DUI on the show and her words are now coming back to bite her in the a**.”

‘Gina is taking the high road and is not going to do the same to Shannon that she did to her. Her silence speaks volumes about how far she has come since her own drunkenness.”

It’s been a tough year for Shannon who split from her boyfriend John Janssen, seen together on WWHL, in November 2022 after almost four years of dating

Shannon is the mother of three daughters; Sophie, 21, and twins Adeline and Stella, both 18

The 39-year-old reality star was also furious that Shannon continued to say she was about to have her children taken away by Child Protective Services (CPS) on the day of her DUI arrest.

Shannon furiously denied saying CPS would take Gina’s children, but a video proved otherwise.

“Shannon says damn and then she wants to pretend she didn’t do it,” Gina said in a confessional. “And if you can say things that are so hurtful and you don’t even remember saying it, you need to get yourself checked into a fucking rehab facility. And when you do that and you get to the damn ‘sorry’ step, I’ll wait for that apology.”

Shannon also suffered a huge heartbreak when her relationship with boyfriend John Janssen ended after four years in November 2022.

In July, Shannon was reportedly removed from an Orange County bar for yelling at John’s daughter.

The alleged altercation took place at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa, where Shannon spent time with John and his family after their divorce.

The motive for the “wild” behavior was unknown, but an eyewitness told the Instagram account @igfamousbydana that Shannon looked “wasted” and “had to be stopped and removed by security.”

Speaking to PageSix, John said: ‘Yes, there was an argument, but it was at the end of the night, the lights were on and everyone was asked to leave.’

Shannon was previously married to David Beador, with whom she has daughter Sophie (21) and 18-year-old twins Stella and Adeline.
