Former Married At First Sight star Seb Guilhaus shocked fans of the Channel Nine series this week when he was arrested and charged with drug dealing after a dramatic police raid on his Adelaide home.
Now, one of his co-stars has revealed that Guilhaus, 35, was “seriously anxious” just days before his arrest and the aftermath of the hit reality show may be partly to blame for his downward spiral.
Mishel Karen, 52, appeared on the seventh season of Married At First Sight with Guilhaus in 2020, and now they both currently work in the adult entertainment industry.
The couple appeared at the LoveX Australia sex and porn convention in Brisbane last month, where Karen noted that Guilhaus was ‘stressed out’ by something that had happened to a friend.
“I was very nervous and stressed, I couldn’t relax. I tried to get him on stage but he was very anxious,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

The two starred together in the seventh season of Married At First Sight and now work in the sex industry. They appear at the LoveX Australia sex and porn convention in Brisbane last month, where Mishel says Seb seemed “eager”.
Karen also added that the former personal trainer was “really focused on making money from his OnlyFans.”
The grandmother called Guilhaus “lovely” and expressed concern that her time on Married At First Sight may have contributed to her recent anxiety.
“He was so close during MAFS, but he never leaves you. You improve after the show, but you always fall back,” she said.
“The thing about being on Married At First Sight is that you’re never taken seriously in your profession, and he was a fitness instructor and the novelty of Seb being on a reality show is probably what people were interested in, instead of what he had.” to offer,’ he explained.
“I feel like the same thing happened to me and a lot of us. It’s a struggle to be taken seriously and then you do something as OnlyFans and maybe you’re okay with it, but maybe you’re not deep down,” he continued.
Karen called Guilhaus “lovely” and expressed concern that her time on Married At First Sight may have contributed to her recent troubles.
Karen previously worked as a policy trainer with Queensland Police, but said she was judged in the workplace after her time at MAFS, so she eventually turned to sex work to make ends meet.
“I think we struggle with mental health after Married At First Sight because maybe we don’t know we are. Are we the character on TV or who we thought we were?’ she pondered.
Guilhaus was arrested on Friday by detectives from the Serious and Organized Crime Section at his Croydon property, where officers allegedly seized nearly 1kg of methamphetamine, with a street value of at least $90,000.
He appeared at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday night, charged with one count of trafficking in a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, The Advertiser reports.

Guilhaus, who was taken into custody to appear for a bail hearing later this week, appeared on the seventh season of MAFS in 2020.
He was partnered on the Channel Nine show with fan-favorite girlfriend Lizzie Sobinoff, but they split a year later in 2021.
Guilhaus previously worked as a personal trainer before joining subscription-based adult website OnlyFans and launching a career as a porn star.
Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, the Serious and Organized Crime Section officer in charge of the raid, described the 870 grams of methamphetamine found as “significant.”
“Methamphetamine causes terrible harm to users and to our communities,” he said.
‘This seizure is a significant amount and would have a street value of approximately $90,000.
“Those who traffic illicit drugs in these quantities do so purely out of their own greed, they don’t care about others.”

Prior to his stint on reality television, Guilhaus made 48 appearances in the South Australian National Soccer League where he scored 15 goals.
In 2021 he was named one of Adelaide’s ‘Most Eligible Bachelors’.
In June, the bodybuilder shared photos of his honed physique in the gym with his 92,000 Instagram followers.
