Miller Moss, the former USC quarterback who recently transferred to Louisville, is among the thousands of people who lost a family home in the wildfires currently raging in Los Angeles. That alone is reason to be upset.

However, Moss encountered another problem on social media after the worst of the fire, when the Hollywood Reporter posted a video of two people playing basketball next to the rubble. The post claimed the video showed “life in Palisades” at Palisades Charter High School.

Moss corrected them, identifying the location of the basketball game as his family’s home and the basketball players as strangers.

It is unclear what exactly the basketball players were doing in the house, there has been a problem with certain opportunists taking advantage of surreal views for their social networkss.

Moss, a Rivals four-star recruit in the class of 2021, started at quarterback for USC for much of this season after three years as a backup. He was replaced by Jayden Maiava in November after an up-and-down season with 2,555 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions in nine games. The Trojans finished the year 7-6.

Moss entered the transfer portal shortly after the regular season ended and landed in Louisville. He was among the most attractive players in the transfer portal and opted to play for head coach Jeff Brohm, who has a 19-8 record in two seasons with the Cardinals.

The Palisades Fire is still burning, covering more than 20,000 acres with 8% containment as of Friday afternoon, like many other fires across Southern California. Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick and his family are among those who lost their homes, and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also lost his childhood home.
