Armie Hammer is being investigated over allegations of sexual assault after an ex-girlfriend accused him of raping her, it was reported.
I can confirm that the Los Angeles Police Department has filed a case involving Armie Hammer with the[Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office]. The DA’s representative, Tiffiny Blackwell, said the matter is currently under review CNN.
Details of the allegations and complainants are not clear.
The social network star has been under investigation for sexual assault since February 2021 after his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova, 26, accused him of ‘violently’ raping and abusing her in 2017.
Hammer, 36, has denied any criminal wrongdoing and has not been charged in the case.

He denied the rape accusations through his lawyer and said that all of his sexual encounters were “fully consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance and mutually participatory”.
DailyMail.com contacted Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, to respond to the DA’s statement.
Several other women have come forward and accused Hammer of having an interest in kinky sex and even cannibalism in the wake of Angelova’s allegations.
The Call Me By Your Name star has been dropped by her personal publicist and former agency as well as several projects following allegations.
His ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, with whom Hammer has two children, Harper, 8, and Ford, 6, has filed for divorce after ten years of marriage.
Hammer also stepped down for his role in Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, but has maintained his innocence.
I do not respond to these disturbing allegations but in light of the vicious and false attacks I have been subjected to online, I cannot now in good conscience leave my children for four months to shoot a movie in the Dominican Republic, he said in a statement to the Daily Mail.
The actor later claimed that he attempted suicide in the Cayman Islands after the backlash.
“I just went out into the ocean and swam as far as I could and hoped I’d drown, or be hit by a boat, or get eaten by a shark,” Hammer said.
Angelova hit back, accusing Hammer of being manipulative and trying to generate sympathy.
He told her the suicide story years before he spoke, she said, and only shared it publicly in an effort to gain sympathy and silence his victims.
The actor admitted that he was emotionally abusive towards his former partners, but blamed his actions on being traumatized by a young priest who allegedly sexually abused him when he was 13.

The scandal began when the House of Effie’s Instagram account began leaking disturbing messages, said to have been sent between 2016 and February 2020, involving conversations about BDSM, as well as numerous sexual references to acts of cannibalism and bloodsucking.
In one of the letters, the actor allegedly writes to the woman: ‘I am 100% cannibal. I want to eat you.’
‘F**k. That’s scary to admit,” the letter continues. “I never admitted it.”
Subsequently, Hammer’s former partners, Paige Lorenzi and Courtney Voskovic, accused him of being physically and emotionally abusive while they were together.
Lorenz told Page Six that the actor had carved the letter “A” into her pelvis for her trademark and then sucked the oozing blood.
In March 2021, Angelova officially came forward with her attorney Gloria Allred, claiming: “On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, repeatedly slamming my head against a bruised wall of my face.”

Angelova said she thought Hammer was “going to kill her” and allegedly hit her feet during the alleged attack “so they could hurt,” according to Variety.
The 26-year-old claimed that she met Hammer on Facebook when she was 20, before she fell in love with the actor.
But she has since said she fell victim to “manipulative tactics”.
Former professional skateboarder-turned-Instagram model Paige Lorenze has spoken out about her four-month relationship with Armie Hammer, which left her emotionally and physically scarred.
Lorenz said Hammer was fixated on biting her body, begging her to let him take lumps of flesh from her arm, before she devoured them.
Using a sharp knife, Hammer cut the first “A” in her skin during a bizarre sex game, which Lorenzi insists got out of control.
Soon after, the LAPD confirmed that they were investigating the actor after a ‘community member’ came forward with an attorney on February 3, 2021, alleging sexual assault.
Hammer has consistently denied the allegations against him.
His attorney said Hammer’s meeting with Angelova was “fully consensual, previously discussed and agreed upon, and mutually beneficial.”
In a statement, the lawyer said: “Evie’s private correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and disproves her outrageous allegations. On July 18, 2020, (she) sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do with her.
‘Mr. Hammer responded by making it clear that he did not want to maintain that kind of relationship with her.
It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose Evie’s fetishes or bizarre sexual desires, but now she’s taken it to another level by hiring a civil attorney to host a public press conference.
