Actress Shobna Gulati detailed feeling “rejected” and questioning her career choice after missing another audition in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday.

The former Coronation Stress actress, 58, who played Sunita Alaha, appears to have struggled to land acting roles and jobs.

Shobna updated her 26,000 followers and wrote: ‘The face of rejection for something I didn’t even know I wanted to do in the first place.

‘Honestly, why the hell did I choose this career? Sometimes I really don’t know, just so it’s cold out there (sic)’

Her post comes after she revealed that since allowing her long locks to grow grey, after dying her hair brunette for years, she now feels more “comfortable.”

The soap star wrote: ‘Wiser? Definitely older! and very silvery, growing grayish.

‘But times are changing and I am very happy with what has happened and I feel very comfortable now.

“I don’t know, but I think my head feels better without the 2 times a week root dye… and that’s a positive, no harsh chemicals, no color protecting shampoo like when I was younger.. “Anyway, I thought I’d share it.”

In 2021, Shobna spoke with Platinum Magazine about her age and older appearance, explaining, “I don’t want to have to look a certain way or how people perceive I should look.”

“I think having my gray hair is deeply empowering because when people tell me, ‘Oh, you don’t look your age,’ I can say, ‘Well, I do.’

She continued: “Ours is a society obsessed with youth, but the good news is that I have watched a lot of European thrillers and dramas during lockdown and it seems that being a woman of a certain age and experience is represented on screen.”
