As the bottom of the table, VfB Stuttgart is currently in the middle of a fight to stay up. Nevertheless, preparations for the coming season are already in full swing.
With Jusuf Gazibegovic from Sturm Graz, Derrick Köhn from Hannover 96 and Zan Vipotnik from NK Maribor, three players are being traded at VfB Stuttgart.
According to the Bosnian portal “sportam.info”, Jusuf Gazibegovic has aroused the interest of the Swabians. It is therefore likely that the 23-year-old right-back will join VfB in the summer.
1. FC Köln and Inter Milan are also interested in the seven-time Bosnia-Herzegovina international. However, there are signs that the native of Salzburg will move to Stuttgart.
Gazibegovic’s contract with Sturm Graz, where he is an undisputed regular player, is dated until 2026.
Ex-talent from FC Bayern to VfB Stuttgart?
On the left side of defence, “Sky” brings Derrick Köhn from Hannover 96 into the conversation at VfB Stuttgart.
Accordingly, the 24-year-old is hoping for the next step in his career and is aiming for a move to the Bundesliga. In addition to VfB, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are also likely to be interested.
A move to Stuttgart would probably be unnecessary anyway if the Swabians were to be relegated.
Köhn learned to play football at Hamburger SV. In 2017, the defender switched to the youth department of FC Bayern. However, the breakthrough with the German record champions did not succeed. For the professionals, there is no game in his vita.
After a stint with Willem II Tilburg, Köhn returned to Germany last summer and joined Hannover 96. The top performer’s contract there runs until 2025.
Slovenian striker traded at VfB Stuttgart
Another player traded at VfB Stuttgart is 21-year-old Slovenian Zan Vipotnik from NK Maribor. According to “Sky”, the striker has also aroused the interest of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Gladbach.
“There have not yet been any concrete negotiations, but the chances are not that bad that he will play in the Bundesliga in the future,” said “Sky” reporter Ben Heckner.
In 30 competitive games this season Vipotnik scored 20 goals and prepared another goal.
The Slovenian storm hope is tied to Maribor until 2024. It is unlikely that Vipotnik will fulfill the contract.
