But the good news is that many of Australia’s leading companies have taken the extraordinary circumstances of the coronavirus into account and took up the challenge of providing customers with additional data and keeping everyone connected during the COVID-19 crisis.

VODAFONE

If you’re looking for more data and you have a Vodafone subscription, you’re in luck.

If you are a post-paid customer and you do not have an unlimited subscription yet, you are eligible and you should already receive a 5 GB bonus of data.

Likewise, if you are a pre-paid customer, you should get a 3 GB bonus on your next top-up.

Consumer organization Choice notified that you do not need to activate these services and that they should be added automatically.

For those who currently need invoice support, Vodafone also does not offer payment fees or suspensions until April 30, 2020.

The Vodafone website states that further financial support will be available to those who need it.

If you do exceed your data fee between March 31 and May 5, 2020, you can expect to be charged less than usual.

* Eligible retirees with a home phone will be able to make unlimited calls to local, national, 13/1300 and mobile numbers until April 30.

* No late payment or service suspension fees until after April 30, 2020.

TELSTRA

When it comes to Telstra, there are several ways the company helps their customers.

Post-paid customers are entitled to a bonus of 25 GB of data to use within 30 days of activation.

All you have to do is register via your Telstra app before April 19 and the data will be added within 48 hours.

For those who work from home and have a broadband subscription (ADSL, NBN or cable), Telstra offers unlimited data until April 30, 2020, with the data added automatically.

Eligible retired home phone users will receive unlimited calls to local, national, 13/1300 and mobile numbers until April 30.

If you have Telstra and you need invoice support, there will be no late payment or suspension fees for overdue invoices between March 19 and April 30.

What are the other main offers?

* Amaysim customers receive 10 GB additional data with a $ 10 subscription, 20 GB additional with a $ 20 subscription, 30 GB additional with a $ 30 subscription and unlimited with a $ 40 subscription.

* Kogan gives pre-paid customers a 3 GB bonus of data, valid for 30 days.

* Customers with a NBN and ADSL subscription with limited data with Aussie Broadband will receive unlimited data between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

* All customers with the Aussie Broadband 12/1 speed plan are automatically upgraded to 25/5 plans.
