Earlier this year, foodies loved a simple fried feta pasta recipe, but now ‘honeycomb’ pasta is the latest trend that is captivating TikTok users.
As the name suggests, the dish replicates the look of a honeycomb as cannelloni paste is used in a rather unconventional way.
To make the mouth-watering meal, place the cooked cylindrical pasta vertically in a greased pan and fill the center with mozzarella sticks.
Spoon the bolognese sauce over it with extra cheese and bake in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
The short list of ingredients includes bolognese sauce, butter, mozzarella cheese, and cannelloni paste.

TikTok has been searched for the term ‘honeycomb paste’ over 10.3 million times and hundreds of users have shared demonstrative videos explaining how to make the creative meal.
Australian food and lifestyle brand Delicious was among the users who posted a video and went viral within a week.
“When we saw the honeycomb paste recipe, we knew we had to try it ourselves,” said the voice over.

The end result looks delectable, and many online have dubbed the unique meal a “ vertical lasagna. ”

How to make honeycomb pasta
- 1 box of uncooked rigatoni or cannelloni paste
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
- 3 cups of bolognese sauce
- 4 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups of fresh mozzarella
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
Cook the pasta al dente and strain
Grease a 23 cm springpan with butter and spoon some bolognese sauce
Place the pasta noodles on top of each other, next to each other, until the pan is filled
Finish with some grated mozzarella and fill each noodle with a small piece of fresh mozzarella
Add sauce and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top to fill gaps and holes in an even layer
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes
Remove foil and cook for another 10 minutes
