A group of Everton fans have urged Farhad Moshiri to seek new bidders amid concerns over 777 Partners.

Everton’s main fan group has called on owner Farhad Moshiri to invite new suitors to come forward and bid for the club after a protracted takeover attempt by US firm 777 Partners appeared to fail.

The Iranian businessman is believed to have held tense talks with representatives of the Miami-based firm this week amid a series of lawsuits against 777. Moshiri’s patience with the sale of his 94.1 percent stake is said to have deteriorated. is running out after an agreement in mid-September.

And the Everton Fans’ Advisory Council said: “This current confusion and lack of transparency cannot continue.” Each party must recognize the role they are playing in tarnishing the reputation of one of the most storied clubs in the history of English football.

“We appreciate that all the rumors and speculation are causing extremely high levels of anxiety and concern among the club’s greatest asset: its fans.” He added: “Moshiri, now is the time to offer other bidders the opportunity to acquire the club.”

Everton have been loaned over £200 million from 777 to keep the club afloat, but serious doubts have constantly been raised about the club’s ability to run it sustainably. The firm was accused of fraud in a lawsuit in New York last weekend, the 17th time it has been named.

Sources close to the situation now say that 777 must convince Moshiri that they are the right buyers for the club or the deal will disappear. Everton’s Supporters Advisory Council will meet with Moshiri in the coming fortnight.
