European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrives in Kiev to mark Europe Day
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Kiev on Tuesday to participate in the commemoration of “Europe Day”, while Ukraine took a symbolic step in which it abandoned the celebration of the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany on the ninth of May, according to Soviet and Russian traditions.
The President of the European Commission went on a night train from Poland to Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and follow up on Ukraine’s efforts to join the European Union, according to a journalist on the train.
