Shaw has struggled with fitness issues and setbacks from injury throughout his career, but has seen a resurgence in recent times, impressing as England reached their first major tournament final in 55 years.
The defender opened the scoring against Italy in just two minutes in the Euro 2020 final on 11 July, crushing Kieran Trippier’s cross on the back post to send England fans into delirium.
In the comfortable 4-0 victory over Ukraine in the quarter-final, Shaw provided two assists – one for club-mate Harry Maguire and the other for captain Harry Kane.
His first assist of the tournament came in the 2-0 win over Germany when he gave Raheem Sterling the pass to break the deadlock in the 75th minute.
Shaw is currently enjoying a summer break with his England team-mates Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Kyle Walker, following their defeat in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
