Police today found the body of a missing 15-year-old boy who was last seen on a lake near the Lakeside Shopping Center in Essex.
Essex police said the discovery was made shortly after 12:40 p.m. on Saturday and they suspended their search.
Officers were called on Friday evening after witnesses reported that a teenager was missing at the Lakeside Shopping Center in Thurrock.
Police said the boy’s family has been notified and official identification will take place in due course.
Superintendent Craig Saunders said, “I would like to thank the local community for their patience and all those involved in the investigation.”
Essex police rushed to Alexandra Lake at the mall at around 8:50 PM on July 31 after the boy went missing.

The missing person was later confirmed as a 15-year-old boy, and police asked people to avoid the area.
Aerial photos taken on site show that the search is widespread.
Specialized search teams were called in to lead the hunt for the teenage girl who went missing on the water. The search was phased out around midnight last night.
A witness told EssexLive yesterday that it was creepy to watch the search take place.
They described how the emergency services used boats to search the water.
They said, “I drove down after my wife saw many emergency services here.
“There are a lot of incident response teams here – loads of ambulances and fire trucks and specialist dive crews that search the river, which is just behind the Travelodge at Lakeside.

“I heard a conversation that appears to be the mother of someone who was in the river,” said another witness.

“A helicopter was over and they still seem to be searching. Officers use torches. ‘
