Escape to the Chateau star Angel Strawbridge launched into a foul-mouthed rant against a producer for allegedly posting photos on social media of a man who looked like her husband, a leaked audio recording shows.
The recording, obtained by entertainment website Deadline, shows Angel calling a crew member a “f—– up little c—” during a heated argument about the show, filmed at the 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigne-sur-Mayenne, France.
An altercation reportedly occurred during the filming of one of the first four seasons of Escape to the Chateau, when the 45-year-old questioned producers about a delay in her schedule.
She then accused a person of uploading images on Instagram of a man who looked like Dick, her husband.
In the newly released recording, Angel can be heard saying, “Who is that inspired by when you’re f—— working in the castle? Just tell me that and then you can f—— leave and this is me f—— angry because I think you’re a f—– up little c—.
The leaked audio appeared just hours before the pair released a statement thanking fans for their support after Channel 4 confirmed it would no longer work with them.
Both the broadcaster and production company Two Rivers Media said ties with the couple had been severed following an investigation into alleged bullying and worrying behavior on set.
The pair declined to comment on the clip, but issued a statement about their departure from Channel 4 for the first time.
But in a post posted to the couple’s Instagram page, the Strawbridges insisted it was their decision to step back from the show.
They wrote: “We know there are a lot of stories in the press right now. It’s not worth even trying to comment or provide context because anything can be made into a good headline. We understand it.
“There are two sides to every story and from the incredible support we’ve received, most of you know that.
“We are proud of who we are, and we believe we should do what we believe is right, in fact that is what has kept Escape to the Chateau unique, and although we have parted ways with Channel 4, we are immensely grateful to them and their teams for their support and creativity over the years.
“The future really couldn’t be more exciting and we thank you for your continued love and support.”
