Erling Haaland completed his century of goals for Manchester City on Sunday when he opened the scoring against Arsenal in the ninth minute.

This was just the 105th game of Haaland’s City career, having joined from Borussia Dortmund in June 2022.

Haaland is now the player with the most goals to reach 100 for a European club, after Cristiano Ronaldo reached his first ton for Real Madrid in his 105th appearance for the Spanish giants in 2011.

Ronaldo eventually ended his Madrid career with a club-record 450 goals in 428 games in 2018. He also reached triple figures for Manchester United and Juventus.

Seventy-three of Haaland’s first 100 goals for City came in the Premier League. He has now scored 18 Champions League goals for the Manchester City side, as well as scoring nine times in domestic cup matches.

Haaland celebrated his 100th goal for City by waving a scarf over his head after a fan threw it onto the pitch.

City released a club statement just five minutes after Haaland’s historic goal hit the back of Arsenal’s net.

The statement highlighted the fact that Haaland was now the 19th player to score at least 100 goals for City’s men’s team.

He concluded with the message: ‘Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Erling on this latest milestone in his incredible career at City!’

We will continue to report more.
