Premier League stars walked the red carpet ahead of the Professional Footballers’ Association’s annual awards ceremony.

After taking their title battle down to the final day last season, Manchester City and Arsenal players arrived hoping to claim some of the sport’s most prestigious individual honours.

The event, which took place at Manchester’s historic Opera House theatre, was hosted by Alex Scott and Jules Breach.

Having followed up his extraordinary debut campaign with another prolific one at the Etihad, Erling Haaland came into the event as one of the favourites to retain his PFA Player of the Year award.

The Norwegian striker wore a black suit for the event and was accompanied on the red carpet by his partner, footballer Isabel Haugseng Johansen.

However, in the end, Haaland was outclassed by City teammate Phil Foden, who served as the club’s primary creative outlet as they secured a historic fourth consecutive top-flight title.

The award is further recognition of Foden’s outstanding performances, having also been named Premier League Player of the Season and winning the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.

Also shortlisted for the Rodri award were Martin Odegaard, Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins.

Following an incredible standout campaign at Chelsea last season, where he scored 22 Premier League goals and recorded 11 assists, Palmer was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

While they failed to secure their first Premier League title in two decades by the narrowest of margins, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were well represented in the PFA Team of the Year.
