Erin Andrews revealed a blunt but effective response from Michael Strahan when she consulted him before starting her business ventures.
While the two are colleagues at Fox, Andrews turned to Strahan for advice on her business ventures, including her clothing line, WEAR.
In an interview with The Entrepreneur posted on Instagram, Andrews credited Strahan for his success. She also remembered the advice he gave her that has stayed with her ever since.
Andrews’ first words were: “I want to be the female version of Michael Strahan.”
Later in the conversation, Andrews revealed that Strahan advised her to “work like you’re broke.”
This mentality has worked for Strahan, who has found business success after a 15-year career in the NFL.

In addition to his work at Fox Sports, Strahan is also co-founder of the agency SMAC Entertainment.
In addition to his work at Fox Sports, Strahan is also the co-founder of SMAC Entertainment. The management agency represents popular internet personalities such as Andrews and American rap star Wiz Khalifa.
With this advice in mind, Andrews launched WEAR in 2019 focusing on sports-themed women’s clothing. While she started the clothing line to expand the women’s sportswear market, the brand has gained a lot of traction thanks to Taylor Swift.
Andrews asked her 14-time Grammy Award-winning friend to wear her pieces several times last year when Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce began drawing more eyes to Chiefs games. In a matter of seconds, Swifties flooded their online store and sold out of their Chiefs jacket.
‘Swifties aren’t just Chiefs fans. They are Miami Dolphins fans. They’re Green Bay Packers fans,” Andrews later shared. “What we are seeing are two different worlds. But I think women like me can help.”
In addition to providing career and business advice, Strahan is one of Andrews’ biggest supporters when they are on-air for NFL assignments. Likewise, Andrews expressed his gratitude to Strahan on air.
During a Packers-Bears game in November, Andrews greeted Strahan on national television and said, “I know another birthday boy.” I’m going to pretend I’m a hologram in the studio coming in. Where are you, Michael Strahan? Happy birthday to you this week, my friend.’
After receiving the greeting, Strahan returned the praise by complementing the look of Andrews, who surprised with a black leather jacket for the broadcast.
‘Thank you. I appreciate it,” Strahan said. ‘If you talk about looking fresh, start talking about that jacket you’re wearing. You look fresh, yeah! I love you EA.’
