Eric Trump slams DA Bragg for ‘wasting $200 million on NYPD security’ and engaging in ‘political charade’

Date:

Eric Trump on Tuesday night accused the Manhattan attorney general of endangering people’s lives with his decision to indict his father, claiming that 38,000 New York police officers were ‘distracted from their work’, in an effort to thwart the 2024 campaign.

The 39-year-old said Donald Trump was an “absolute rock,” describing him as resolute in all the days since Thursday’s indictment.

On Tuesday afternoon, the former president appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court for arrest and appeared before a trial judge.

The unprecedented operation to arrest a former president went quietly, leaving New York authorities to breathe a sigh of relief — but Eric Trump said the security measures were excessive.

Eric Trump on Tuesday night accused Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg of endangering the lives of New Yorkers by distracting New York police officers.

“We hopped in the procession,” said Eric, who flew into LaGuardia Airport with his dad on his private jet.

Every intersection has been closed. FDR is closed. There was an army around Trump Tower. There was an army around the courtroom. There were barricades all over New York.

He told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s decision to charge his father put New Yorkers at risk.

Alvin Bragg literally distracted 38,000 NYPD officers from their work, and over $200 million they estimate this trip was for – for what? To pay $130,000? Eric said.

“How many people in New York died because the entire NYPD wasn’t doing its job because they were dealing with an Alvin Bragg charade?”

Eric echoed his father and his father’s legal team in describing the 34-count indictment as a politically motivated farce.

They’re doing it to persecute the man who won the Republican nomination by 35 points. Eric: He’s not close.

“They want him out of the race.”

He said it began “when they recalled 11 million documents from the Trump Organization”.

“They couldn’t find the damn thing.”

In January, the Trump Organization was fined $1.6 million after an investigation.

The company was sanctioned over a scheme in which the former president’s top executives evaded personal income taxes on exorbitant business perks.

The fine was the only punishment a judge could impose on the Trump Organization after it was found guilty in December of 17 tax offenses, including conspiracy and falsifying business records. The amount was the maximum allowed by law.

He told Eric Hannity on Tuesday that his father’s critics have “weaponized the system.”

“They want a tsunami of legal challenges to weigh in on the president,” he said.

They think he will give up.

Dad will never give up.

He will fight and I promise you, mark my words. I promise you he will win in 2024.

“Americans see through this charade.”

Donald Trump is being investigated by the special prosecutor, Jack Smith, for trying to overturn the 2020 election, but Eric has insisted it is in fact Trump’s opponents who are trying to rig the vote.

They are arming the regime. They’re arming every institution they can get their claws into,” Eric said.

They will win using any possible methodology.

“It’s not about fair elections.

It’s not about winning at the polls.

It uses any method to gain an unfair advantage over your opponents. They put our father and our family through hell.

Eric said his father — who is widely disliked by Manhattan — received a warm welcome when he returned to his Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, on Tuesday night.

Donald Trump officially switched his primary residence to Florida in November 2019, due in part to the tax implications and also because of the period he was received in his hometown.

“When we got off that plane and I saw tens and tens of thousands of people lining the street from Palm Beach Airport to Mar-a-Lago waving Trump 2024 flags,” Eric said.

“Shawn, love is unbelievable. No one has ever seen this kind of love.

This comes on the day the 45th President of the United States was impeached and the streets were lined with people literally singing “God Bless America”.
