Epstein “Said Prince Andrew Could Not Have Bathed With Roberts Because Maxwell’s Bath Was Too Small”
During our investigation of Jeffrey Epstein, he called me several times to arrange meetings.
The first time was in late 2015.
I was having lunch with two of my right partners when I got a call on my cell phone with the incoming number as 0000000000.
Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, with Virginia Roberts, 17 years old, in Ghislaine Maxwell’s London apartment. The photo was developed in March 2001
I had never seen such a phone number before, so I walked out and answered the call. “Brad, it’s Jeffrey. Let’s meet. ‘
When I asked why, he replied, “I want to see if there is a way we can finally separate.”
This was his way of suggesting that he wanted to find a way to solve all the issues he was involved in.
The phone call told me he was concerned.
We arranged to meet at the Starbucks in Boca Raton, Florida the following morning.
Yes, this was unusual. But things between us went well beyond what lawyers could solve. It was just playmanship, part of an eight-year legal chess game between a genius sociopath and me, a lawyer in doing legal chess against bad guys.
I came to the Starbucks first. Epstein wore his usual gray sweatpants and blue suede slippers with the collar turned over on his monogrammed polo shirt.
We spoke for an hour about our philosophical differences, our factual and legal differences.
He believed that women’s sexual availability should be determined by biology and not by arbitrary social norms – or the law. By law, all that mattered was science. Therefore, pre-puberty was where he drew the line.
According to Epstein, the age of consent, if dictated by anything other than biology, was arbitrary – meaning a word that it shouldn’t apply to any aspect of his life.
Prince Andrew imagined waving to a brunette from Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan home in 2010
How could a woman whose body could bear children not be given the choice to perform the actions necessary to give birth?
In his own twisted ideology, he thought he was invincible. In fact, he said so much. He loved to drop his name to let me know how important and protected he was. The more we spoke, the more certain things became clear about him. He was a very torn soul.
He wanted to solve his legal problems, which all stemmed from his sexually deviant behavior, but he didn’t really want to change that behavior.
He liked to make jokes that were particularly inappropriate for the situation. He said something like, “Brad, let’s get our heads together and figure out how to massage the story to make it fairer for me,” before staring at me and pausing. Then he added, “My kind of massage, of course.”
Childish statements like this were irresistible to Epstein. Then he grinned, waiting for a mutual laugh.
While at Starbucks, Jeffrey looked at me and said, “You know, some of what Virginia [Roberts] says it’s not right. ‘
“Which part?” I asked.
The Duke of York with Emily Maitlis, who interviewed him for a BBC Newsnight special. Prince Andrew has repeatedly and firmly denied Miss Roberts’ claims
“Didn’t Virginia say she and Ghislaine had a threesome with Prince Andrew at Ghislaine’s London apartment?” He was clearly trying to beautify things to make her look incredible.
I corrected him: “No. She said nothing about a threesome, but now that you’re talking about it, she said she was with you and Ghislaine in the London apartment when Prince Andrew came over and stayed the night. You told her to entertain him. There’s even a photo to prove most of it. ‘
He said, “There is a problem. Now I remember. She said she took a bath with Andy. If I could show you how small Ghislaine’s bath was in that apartment, it would be difficult for two people to fit. ‘
This seemed to be a weak point to force. “How about the threesome with you and Ghislaine where Virginia was made to dress up as a Catholic school girl and sometimes in latex outfits,” I said. That certainly doesn’t seem far-fetched, since Juan Alessi [Epstein’s former housekeeper] testified about Ghislaine’s sex toys and we know you especially enjoy the schoolgirls in uniform. ‘
He grinned and said, “Does Ghislaine look like my type to you? Don’t you know me better now? ‘
He liked to make such comments and joked that he was attracted to young girls, a category Ghislaine Maxwell did not fall into.
