CNN anchor Anderson Cooper came under fire for his ‘entitled’ questioning of Kamala Harris at a Pennsylvania town hall on Wednesday.
Harris initially criticized Trump for not showing up (this was originally supposed to be a second Harris-Trump debate) before facing questions about immigration, abortion and her performance as vice president.
One wrote that Cooper’s questions to Harris reeked of the Vanderbilt scion’s entitlement.
‘It’s infuriating how a white man feels entitled to interrupt the vice president while she’s trying to answer a damn question. Looking at you @andersoncooper.’
Some of the questions angered liberals with Cooper, generally seen as friendly to progressives.
Liberals were furious with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper over her questioning of Kamala Harris at a Pennsylvania town hall on Wednesday.
“Anderson Cooper just asked Harris why she and Biden haven’t solved all the problems she talks about over the last four years,” said Biden supporter Chris D. Jackson.
‘Actually? I mean, were you in a coma? Did you miss the part where they had to solve a pandemic, save the economy from stagnation, rebuild crumbling infrastructure, and defend against fascism both here and abroad?
Jackson suggested he direct the question to Trump: “Maybe turn that question over to Trump, the guy who actually spent four years in office and somehow managed to be ranked the worst president in history by historians.” Yes, let’s hear your answer.’
Similarly, another user wrote: ‘Anderson Cooper has NEVER spoken to Trump in this tone and continues to push for the answer HE wants.’ NEVER!!’
Meanwhile, others credited Cooper for not giving in when Harris dodged questions about immigration.
“Anderson Cooper harshly rejected Harris’ answers about border security and her thoughts on the wall,” one wrote.
Another said: ‘Even Anderson Cooper is criticizing her. But of course, she didn’t answer the question at all.
Harris avoided a question about the effectiveness of a border wall during Wednesday night’s CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper.

—But do you want to build a wall? Cooper asked, after noting that funding for wall construction was included in the bipartisan bill Harris supported.
The Democratic candidate responded: “I want to strengthen our border.”
A college student had asked Harris a question about the government benefits immigrants receive.
He began answering the question with his usual speech on immigration, criticizing former President Donald Trump for derailing that bipartisan bill that would have provided, in his words, a “long-term” immigration solution.
Cooper then weighed in and asked why she and President Joe Biden didn’t implement the executive action that has dramatically reduced illegal border crossings sooner.
She responded that they hoped to reach a long-term agreement with Congress.
Cooper then pointed out that funding for the border wall was included in the bill and noted how Harris had previously called it “stupid” and a “medieval vanity project.”
‘Well, let’s talk about Donald Trump and that border wall. So remember that Donald Trump said Mexico would pay for it. Come on, they didn’t do it,’ he said. ‘How much of that wall did he build? I think the last figure I saw was around 2 percent. And then when it was time to do a photo shoot. Do you know where he did it? On the part of the wall that President Obama built.

Cooper then tried to get Harris to admit that a wall was effective for some border protection, but the Democrat refused to bite.
The town hall hearing is filling up with undecided voters and will be held in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, one of the swing counties surrounding Philadelphia.
Before Harris took the stage, Cooper said voters posed the questions themselves but would still read them off pieces of paper.
The questions, Cooper promised, “have not been edited in any way by CNN.”
