While temperatures along Australia's east coast and winter plummet in just a few days, flights to many popular holiday destinations from both here and abroad, including North Queensland, Hamilton Island, Los Angeles and Hawaii, have been drastically shortened.

For those who are not looking for jet set abroad, Qantas has launched a massive sale of Queensland on flights booked before the following Monday.

Flights are from $ 99 one way with cheap flights to travel hotspots such as the Gold Coast and Hervey Bay (from $ 105), Brisbane ($ 109) and the Sunshine Coast ($ 119.)

Travel dates vary between deals.

Qantas will add 300 extra seats between July and September for flights to Hamilton Island from Brisbane and Sydney.

The extra seats were made possible by adding an additional return service from Brisbane and upgrading to larger aircraft on some days.

Rates currently start from $ 139 from Brisbane.
