Kasabian have confirmed they are one of the surprise bands taking to the stage at Glastonbury Festival, much to the delight of their fans.
The band took to their Instagram page on Saturday to share a photo of an A-board on a patch of grass with the words ‘Woodsies News, it’s happening! 6pm Saturday’.
The band, formed in Leicester in 1997, wrote in the caption of the post: ‘It’s happening! See you at 6pm at Woodsies @glastofest.’
Kasabian, consisting of Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Tim Carter, made their Glastonbury debut in 2005 and headlined the festival in 2014. They are known for their songs Fire and Club Foot.

Sun revealed before Saturday that one of the many surprise acts will be British rock band Kasabian.
Ten years after Serge Pizzorno and the group last took to the stage at Worthy Farm, confidential sources have confirmed that they are booked to play.
A source told the publication: “Glastonbury is always a big deal but this year Kasabian really can’t wait, especially as it’s been a decade since they were last there.”
‘They loved the idea of it being a secret act and embraced the idea when Glasto boss Emily Eavis suggested it.
The set will last one hour.
Previous Glastonbury surprise acts have included The Killers, Radiohead and Foo Fighters.
A second surprise performer for this year’s Glastonbury was revealed to be folk singer-songwriter Beans On Toast.
Glastonbury started on Wednesday and ends on Sunday.
This year’s festival headliners are Coldplay, who will perform on Saturday night, SZA, who will perform on Sunday night, and Dua Lipa, who will perform on Friday night.
Shania Twain, 58, will play late Sunday afternoon and talked about how she is preparing.
