Heather Knight has called on England fans to turn out in droves to try and complete a T20 series win over New Zealand at Lord’s on Wednesday night.

England enters that final encounter with an unassailable 4-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

It is their final home game of the summer, with the main focus of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh just over two months away.

And England captain Knight is hoping her spirited side will be bolstered by the mass support as they look to wrap up their series with the White Ferns and start the summer on a strong note.

“It’s been a next-level summer for us so far in terms of results and performances and it would be really fantastic if we could finish it off with a next-level crowd at Lord’s,” said the 33-year-old.

Knight, who along with teammates Lauren Bell, Sophia Dunkley, Sarah Glenn and Danni Wyatt have recently shown off their tricks in a new movie At Lord’s, he continued: ‘It’s a great moment for us to play at Lord’s, it really feels special and it will never stop being exciting for us to play in front of so many people in a big stadium.

‘It adds something to the whole event and, being our last home game before the World Cup, it’s even more important.

“I get goosebumps just thinking about stepping out onto the pitch. Support for women’s sport across the country is at an all-time high and we hope that trend continues.”

England will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 3 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
