Coventry City may have booked their trip to Wolverhampton following a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Cup heroes Maidstone United, but they previously beat Sheffield Wednesday in a sticky two-legged fourth round tie after their Oxford United’s simple defeat opened their campaign.
Wolves have had it worse, manfully dispatching Premier League rivals Brighton 1-0 in the fifth round, after a hard-fought (and I do mean hard-fought) derby with West Bromwich Albion before that. Wolves also had to face top-flight opposition in the third round, but although it took them two stabs, they eventually defeated Brentford 4-3 on aggregate.
