England prop Kyle Sinckler has extended his contract with Bristol for a year, putting an end to speculation that he might move abroad after the World Cup next year.
The dynamic front-row striker missed out on England’s summer tour win over Australia when he recovered from a back problem, but he remains a key figure for head coach Eddie Jones.
Sinckler had been linked with interest from French clubs as the 11 Gallagher Premiership teams left standing this season continue to try to balance their teams amid the league’s financial crisis.

The 29-year-old England gag admitted it was an ‘easy decision’ to stay in Bristol
Sinckler, 29, is a two-time British & Irish Lions tourist and revealed: ‘It was an easy decision for me to stay in Bristol and I feel like I have some unfinished business here.
“I am excited about what will come out of this group and feel very blessed to play for a club with such incredible supporters.”
The Premiership has already lost two clubs this season after Worcester and Wasps were both under administration and suspended from the competition.

Ongoing financial problems and the cut in the Premiership’s salary cap – the amount teams can spend on player wages – have made it difficult for clubs to make new deals with their squad.
But Sinckler’s status as one of the first names on the team sheet for both club and country when he is fit means Bristol acted quickly to secure his services.
The 52-cap international came over from Harlequins in July 2020 and made 38 appearances for the Bears. Sinckler will remain with Ashton Gate until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Bristol Rugby Director Pat Lam said: ‘It’s fantastic for the Bears to keep someone of Kyle’s caliber. “For him, re-signing with the Bears is a huge positive for the club.
Bristol sprang into action to secure Sinckler’s services, with the club labeling him an ‘outstanding professional’
“He is an outstanding professional with a wealth of experience in a crucial position and a real asset to us both on and off the field.
“I’m happy for everyone at the Bears that he will continue to contribute to our journey.”
