England’s Jordan Henderson dubbed ‘SELFISH’ by Gabriel Agbonlahor due to his injury issues ahead of the European Championship…as the former Aston Villa star claims he’d be ‘fucking’ if he were a midfielder who played the 26-man side of the game missed. captain of Liverpool
Gabriel Agbonlahor has made the decision to sign Jordan Henderson into the England squad amid his injury problems, labeling the Liverpool star ‘selfish’ for not withdrawing.
Henderson, alongside Harry Maguire and now Trent Alexander-Arnold, is in big doubt for the start of the European Championship having not played since February following a groin injury against Everton at Anfield.
Henderson was an unused substitute as England beat Austria 1-0 on Wednesday night in a friendly at Riverside Stadium and are in a huge battle to be fit for the Three Lions’ opening game at the European Championship against Croatia on June 13 on Wembley.

And ahead of England’s curtain-raiser in 10 days, Agbonlahor has admitted he has been annoyed by Henderson’s involvement with the traveling Euro squad.
“The thing that really turns me on is the Henderson thing,” Agbonlahor – who played for England three times – told talkSPORT.
“Even for Henderson, he just has to be honest with the manager now and say, ‘You know what I’m struggling here. I am a leader and a captain in myself, I will do the right thing for the team. Bring in Ben.” White, Eric Dier, bring in whoever you want as another central midfielder because this injury is coming up now, I’m not fit and it could happen again if I get better for the second game.”
Henderson was involved in England’s squad for the friendly against Austria in hopes of playing a part, but Gareth Southgate later revealed that his experienced midfielder did not feel fit enough to play with.
“He wasn’t happy with how he was feeling this morning,” Southgate admitted after the whistle on Wednesday. “We scanned him and it was all clear. It has been decided not to involve him tonight and let’s see how it goes.

And when asked specifically if Henderson is “selfish” by co-host Jamie O’Hara regarding his recording, the former Aston Villa man was emphatic in his response.
Agbonlahor replied, ‘I think he is selfish. If you look at it, the squad has been announced and he told Southgate this morning that he is not fit today.
“They said the scans came back and they’re fine, and he knows he feels a little problem.
‘The tournament starts in 10 days, you play against Croatia, against a good good team. You have to be there, you need training before the match, you need some games in you.’
There were some notable omissions from the England squad when Henderson was detained, including Jesse Lingard and James Ward-Prowse.

And Agbonlahor added: ‘He cannot go. If I am an English midfielder who has not been chosen in this squad, I am furious. I think, “Wait a minute, this player is a great player, a great career so far, but he’s injured. Send him home.”
“It’s not like it’s Lionel Messi, like sending him home. We have other midfielders who can do it just as well as him.’
In addition, the Manchester United centre-back remains in doubt as he suffered an ankle injury late in the season at Aston Villa.
And Alexander-Arnold, who was a late draw to England’s European Championship team, is now sweating over his fitness after stumbling against Austria with a thigh injury.
