England enter their crucial World Cup triple header with doubts over Tyrone Mings and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Gareth Southgate’s men will face Hungary in Budapest on Thursday, for a home game against Andorra at Wembley on Sunday, followed by a trip to Poland next Wednesday.

But there are doubts about the condition of Mings and Calvert-Lewin, who are both injured.

Aston Villa defender Mings, who played a key role in the Euro 2020 group stage to help England’s euphoric race to the final, is suffering from a rib problem that kept him out of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford.

Calvert-Lewin, who scored three goals in Everton’s first three Premier League games of the season, played through the pain barrier with a toe injury.

Both players will be assessed before deciding whether they can play for England.

Southgate is already without Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden and Ben White due to injury or illness and could do without further withdrawals.

Players are expected to report for duty at St George’s Park on Monday before embarking on a light training session.

England haven’t played since their painful loss to Italy on penalties in the Euro 2020 final, but could take a giant step towards qualifying for Qatar 2022 in the next three games.
