- Twitter has criticized the Manchester United defender for his poor play
Harry Maguire made his last mistake tonight by conceding a penalty in England’s game against Germany
At 0-0 and after a positive first half, the defender was caught trying to play out of defense and was expropriated by Jamal Musiala before knocking down his opponent for a penalty, which Ilkay Gundogan pushed off.
Maguire has received more criticism on social media during the game period, with one fan labeling him as ‘insanely bad’.
“How he is chosen for both Man Utd and England is mental,” the user added.
“It is not his fault that he was chosen. He’s basically thrown into the lion’s den every week, he’s playing at a level where he’s just incapable of what’s expected in today’s football.
Other users criticized the regularity of Maguire’s mistakes, many of which recently saw him lose his place at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag.
“There goes Maguire again… Doing what he’s always good at… playing nonsense!!” said one user.
“Maguire does it over and over,” added another.
“Right now it’s almost like feeling sorry for Maguire. Nobody will, but still!’ added a third.
