Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined those laughing at the shin guards he wore against San Marino, a funny joke on Twitter that he put custard creams in his socks.
Calvert-Lewin scored twice for England on Thursday-evening when they beat minnows San Marino 5-0 at Wembley, with James Ward-Prowse, Raheem Sterling and Ollie Watkins also on the scoresheet.
But despite his heroic goals, it was Calvert-Lewin’s choice of shin guards that drew the most attention at Wembley.

Football fans flocked to social media to poke fun at his shin guards, and after being clearly made aware of the jokes, the Everton striker decided to get in on the action himself.
Calvert-Lewin joked on Twitter after the game, ‘For anyone wondering … this is what I use for my shinnys,’ alongside a photo of a pastry cream.
Many of England’s supporters joked that Calvert-Lewin had stuffed classic Nokias in his socks.
One fan jokingly commented: ‘It says in the rulebook that players must wear shin guards in professional matches, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin has stuffed a pair of Nokia 3210s in his socks and that ladies and gentlemen is why he will never get injured. ‘

But not everyone compared the shin guards of the 24-year-old Everton attacker to those of Nokia.
One fan quipped, ‘Calvert-Lewin wears shin pad custard creams, pass it on.’
“I can’t choose either a pack of benson and hedges for his shin guards or tick tak boxes,” another joked.
It’s not the first time Calvert-Lewin has used small shin guards after eagle-eyed fans spotted him wearing similar shin guards against Burnley on Turf Moor last December.
