George Ford is set to be joined by his girlfriend Jess Portman at the Rugby World Cup
Ford will be determined to make a major impact for England at the tournament in Japan
Wives and girlfriends will not be able to stay at the team hotel during training weeks.
While Southgate allowed players’ wives and girlfriends to join the team at meal times at the World Cup, it is unlikely that such a scenario will happen in Japan.
Captain Owen Farrell was consulted in the decision to allow wives and girlfriends to travel
England’s accommodation in Japan varies from city to city, but the RFU have put together travel packages to allow players to be with their partners.
Farrell’s wife Georgie and George Ford’s girlfriend Jess Portman are amongst those set to travel to Japan.
Jones’ side get their World Cup campaign underway against Tonga on September 22.
