Sophie Habboo burst into tears as she surprised her husband Jamie Laing on their first wedding anniversary by legally changing her name.
The former Made In Chelsea stars tied the knot in front of their loved ones last April at Chelsea Registry Office before jetting off to Spain in May for a lavish second ceremony.
During the latest episode of her Newlyweds podcast, Sophie, 30, couldn’t contain her emotions as she revealed to Jamie, 35, that she is now officially ‘Mrs. Sophie Laing’.
Jamie was completely shocked by the news, but said the surprise “meant a lot to him.”
Announcing the touching gesture, Sophie was seen wiping away tears as she read a romantic poem about their relationship.

The former Made In Chelsea stars tied the knot in front of their loved ones last April at Chelsea Registry Office before traveling to Spain in May for a lavish second ceremony.
She said: ‘It’s been a wonderful year since I became your wife, saying yes to you was the best decision of my life.
“We’ve laughed more and fought less since we got married, we’ve gotten weirder, and we often pretend to play dead.”
‘You play and trick me endlessly, my God, and the way we meow at each other is a little strange.
“Rubbing your abs to check they’re there five times a day and scratching and smelling your butt is never going to be okay.”
“I think it’s obvious that there’s no one I laugh with more and life is infinitely better with you, that’s for sure.”
She continued, “Truly my best friend, you strengthen me in everything and I am so proud of you and all the endless joy you bring.”
‘It’s nice, we have our own strange language and I am very happy because you are my home.
“Honestly, I feel safer with you than with anyone, you are my teammate forever and you have been in my corner since day one.

Breaking down into tears, Sophie concluded: “A very happy anniversary from me, Mrs Sophie Laing. Yes, that’s right, Laing. I have officially changed my name.’
Jamie couldn’t believe the news and quickly got up to give Sophie a kiss while filming.
He replied: ‘Haven’t you? No, you haven’t? Have you really done it? That! Are you joking or are you serious?
‘I wasn’t expecting this! I need to give you a hug, that means the world.
‘Honey, that’s a lot, have you really changed your name? I didn’t expect you to do that, but it’s the best thing ever. I’m really puzzled. That’s great.
‘I love you a lot. I am very happy to be married to you.
Jamie couldn’t believe the news and got up to kiss Sophie while filming and said: ‘You haven’t? Have you really done it? I wasn’t expecting this! I need to give you a hug, that means the world. I love you a lot. I’m so happy to be married to you.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Jamie told ITV viewers that Sophie “really took him by surprise” by legally changing her name.
Speaking about the moment, she said: “It was very sweet and emotional when I was surprised that he had changed his name during our podcast and I had tears in my eyes.” He was excited, it really took me by surprise’
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Jamie told ITV viewers that Sophie “really took him by surprise” by legally changing her name.
While speaking to Suzanna Reid and Martin Lewis, he admitted he “had tears in my eyes” when Sophie revealed the news to him.
He said: ‘It was very sweet and emotional that I was surprised that he had changed his name during our podcast and had tears in his eyes.
“I got excited, it really took me by surprise.”
It comes after Jamie recently admitted that since getting married he has become “lazy” in the bedroom.
speaking to The sun on SundayJamie confessed that Sophie always jokes that she is “a standard” in the bedroom, and that now that they are married she “can’t bother” acting anymore.
He said: “I used to start writing by hand and then I thought, ‘I can’t bother with that because it’s faster for me not to do it.’ I’m a bit like that in the bedroom.
“I don’t give up halfway, but I do remember one time I got on top of Sophie and she said, ‘Oh, keep going.’
Jamie added that he suggested to Sophie that they attend a marriage counselor to help them communicate effectively.
He added that they now have sessions twice a month and that has made them more “empathetic” when discussing any issues in their relationship.
It comes after Jamie recently admitted that since getting married he has become “lazy” in the bedroom.
Jamie and Sophie met on Made In Chelsea and struck up a romance in 2019. They married in two lavish ceremonies last year, one at Chelsea Registry Office and another in Spain.
Sophie and Jamie met while starring together on Made In Chelsea and cemented their romance in 2019 after being friends for several years.
Jamie described her as “the kindest, most empathetic person I’ve ever met” and also shared that he wants a big family with Sophie in the future.
Sophie previously revealed to MailOnline that she and Jamie are planning to buy their first property together, as they look to the future as husband and wife.
Sophie and Jamie married in an intimate legal ceremony at Chelsea Registry Office in April 2023 with a small group of friends and family.
The couple then flew to Spain, with their main wedding taking place in May 2023 at Andalusia’s largest private residential development in Sotogrande.

Sophie and Jamie’s relationship was well documented during their time on Made In Chelsea.

The pair were previously best friends, before their friendship turned into romance on Made In Chelsea and they started dating five years ago.
