Channel 10 has released a preview of Neighbors this week.

And it looks like Shiv Palekar’s Haz character could face a tragic end, at the hands of his on-screen girlfriend Mackenzie (Georgie Stone).

The episode focuses on Haz falling into a plan hatched by his dubious friend Wade (Stephen Phillips).

Wade has blackmailed Haz into accepting the criminal enterprise after threatening to ruin Mackenzie’s career.

But things take a dramatic turn when Mackenzie tries to stop Haz, causing Haz to run away and hide.

When Karl (Alan Fletcher) joins Mckenzie in searching for her boyfriend, the story takes a dark turn when she accidentally runs him over.

And in a tragic turn of events that will surprise fans, Haz recognizes that it is Mackenzie who is behind the wheel just before the car hits him.

It comes after fans slammed the long-running soap last week for airing a “gruesome” storyline apparently inspired by Brisbane’s infamous “poop corridor”.

In a recent episode, long-time Ramsay Street resident Dr. Karl, played by Alan Fletcher, feels dizzy while riding his bike and has to stop to relieve himself.

Unfortunately, there are no public toilets nearby, so he is forced to defecate in the bushes.

This strange plot has the other characters working hard to track down the culprit, not realizing that it is their close friend and trusted medical professional.

A trailer recently shared on social media once again showed Karl relieving himself outdoors, and fans immediately criticized the show for going too far in its attempt to come up with new storylines.

‘Could Karl really be the serial killjoy?’ she wrote the account alongside the clip.

The story appears to be inspired by the real-life case of Brisbane business executive Andrew Macintosh, also known as ‘poo jogger’, who in 2018 quit his job after it was discovered he had been repeatedly defecating outside a block Of units.

The trailer quickly sent Neighbors fans into a frenzy, many of whom took to the comments section to denounce the show.

‘This story sucks!’ one fan criticized and a second person added: ‘I hate this. Obviously its high-fiber diet has laxative effects.

‘Karl has become a caricature lately. This is a new low for writers,” a third person chimed in, and another added: “What a shitty story.”

It comes after Amazon Prime saved the beleaguered soap opera in November 2022, several months after it was initially axed.

Unfortunately, the Neighbors reboot turned out to be a huge flop for Channel 10.
