Emmanuel Adebayor has signed for Paraguayan side Olimpia on a free transfer, it was announced Tuesday.
The former striker Tottenham and Arsenal joins his 10th other professional club after ending a three-month period in December with Kayserispor on the Turkish side.
The 35-year-old is closely linked to a move to the Paraguay giants after club president Marco Trovato promised to sign the Togolese veteran if the club signed another 20,000 season ticket holders during the weekend.

‘If there are another 20,000 seasonal ticket holders on Monday [to reach 35,000]”Emmanuel Adebayor will be an Olimpia player and will be presented on Wednesday,” Trovato announced at a news conference.
Olimpia is currently fifth in their Apertura campaign and is captain of the former Manchester City attacker, Roque Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz joined the club in 2016 and helped the club with the Apertura titles 2018, 2018 Clausura and 2019 Apertura.
Both attackers played as boss during the reign of Mark Hughes in the summer of 2009 and played side by side for the next 18 months.
Before moving his £ 25 million to Etihad, Adebayor made his name in Monaco in Ligue 1 before sealing a move to Arsenal in the January 2006 transfer window.

During his stay in City, Adebayor went on loan to both Real Madrid and Tottenham before completing a final move to White Hart Lane in 2012.
Since then, the striker represents Crystal Palace, Istanbul BB and Kayserispor.
His last move may raise a lot of eyebrows, but the man himself couldn’t hide his huge smile he spoke to fans on Twitter after confirming his move.
In 446 league games in four different countries, Adebayor has 161 goals to its name and 52 assists.
