Emma Stone is reuniting with her frequent collaborator Yorgos Lanthimos for the upcoming conspiracy feature Bugonia.
The 35-year-old actor will play a lead role in the project, which will center on two men who kidnap an influential CEO after becoming convinced that the individual is secretly an alien.
The actress, who won an Academy Award for her work in one of the 50-year-old director’s films, will also be joined by Jesse Plemons in the feature film, based on the Korean film Save the Green Planet, which was released in 2003.
The script for Bugonia will be written by Will Tracy, and Lanthimos, Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen will reportedly produce. Variety.
Focus Features president Peter Kujawski made a statement describing the Dogtooth director as “a cinematic visionary with a singular style that has captivated audiences around the world.”

Producer Kyoungboum Ko also stated that he hoped Lanthimos’ work would “bring about a dynamic chemical fusion with his unique style and novelty of narrative.”
Stone first collaborated with the director on his black comedy film The Favorite, which was released in 2018.
The film also starred Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz, with the former taking home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in the film.
The Zombieland star was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, which ultimately went to Regina King.
Stone and Lanthimos reunited for Poor Things, which was based on the novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray.
The film also featured the talents of artists such as Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef and Margaret Qualley.
Poor Things debuted last year and was received with great success from critics and audiences alike.

The film made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival last Friday, where it was received favorably by critics.
Kinds Of Kindness is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on June 21.
