Emma Raducanu has cut ties with her coach Sebastian Sachs after working with the German coach for just six months.
The player has worked with a number of different coaches since her US Open 2021 success, but has failed to establish a lasting working relationship with any of the five coaches she has worked with over the past 25 month.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the 20-year-old said: “I have really enjoyed coaching Seb and working with him, it is unfortunate that circumstances have made it impossible for both of us to continue at this time and we have decided to part ways.”
“I wish Seb all the best going forward.”
The player is currently recovering from surgery on her wrists and left ankle, and is expected to miss the entire grass-court season.

The player cited ‘unworkable circumstances’ to prematurely end their working relationship
Raducanu appointed Sachs in December 2022 after two months without a coach following his October split from Dmitry Tursunov.
Tursunov and Raducanu worked together for a few months on a trial basis as the option to extend their contract was not exercised.
The player previously worked with Torben Beltz for five months between 2021 and 2022, as well as with Nigel Sears between June and July 2021, and Andrew Richardson between July and September of the same year.
During the interim periods, Raducanu relied on coaches including Jeremy Bates and LTA women’s tennis manager Iain Bates on a temporary basis.
Richardson, who coached Raducanu to a fairytale victory at Flushing Meadows, was in the process of renegotiating his contract to continue working with the champion when the decision was made not to move forward with their partnership.
“After probably ten days to two weeks (after the tournament) I was out of contract,” Richardson explained.

After breaking up with Beltz, Raducanu tested Dmitry Tursunov as a coach, but they didn’t to extend the partnership.

“We were renegotiating, then I got a quick call from his agent telling me they were going to go in a different direction, and that was the end of it.”
The current world No. 107 has had a tough 2023 season as she continues to battle lingering injuries ahead of her May surgeries.
A flash of her immense talent was on display at Indian Wells, who saw British power through the draw to reach the knockout stages, but her run was stalled when she came up against Iga Swiatek, the 1 dispatching Raducanu in straight sets. .
Raducanu will be hoping the minor surgeries will fix the issues that plagued her career after the US Open, and the player will look to return to action in time to compete in the tournament that wrote her name in the history books.
