Lily Collins, 35, has teamed up with American heptathlete Anna Hall to invent a new Olympic sport

Emily won’t be making it to the Paris Olympics in the near future with that outfit, but luckily actress Lily Collins still has a chance to win gold – with a little French courage.

The Emily In Paris star, 35, joined American heptathlete Anna Hall in a race to open bottles of ‘champere’ – the brand of champagne her character works with on the Netflix show.

In a video posted on social media, Collins proposes a “friendly competition” to Hall, 23. Pointing to the actress’s four-inch Ferragamo wedges, a bemused Hall asks: “Are you going to run in those heels?”

Mrs. Collins replies: “In these bad boys? Don’t tempt me. I’ve done it before, but no. Who said anything about running?”

He then brings a cart with two bottles of champagne and says to Mrs. Hall, “Let’s see who can open their bottle of champagne the fastest.”

Posing for the photocall for US broadcaster NBC, Ms Collins wore a black sequined beret, a £4,900 pink Valentino skirt and a £263 tie from the same fashion house.

Other clips showed her touching up her lipstick and dancing in front of a green screen of the Eiffel Tower.

Ms Collins’ new outfit apparently marks a “simpler” wardrobe for her character on the show, which returns for its fourth season on Thursday.

Last week she said: “This season, I’ve found myself more in Emily. I’ve taken more risks in fashion, being more understated and minimalist, which is riskier for Emily, but for me it’s closer.”
