Prince Andrew faces new calls for an FBI investigation into his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein after emails from the billionaire pedophile suggest Duke ‘lied’ in his BBC Newsnight interview

Prince Andrew is facing new questions about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein after emails emerged suggesting he ‘lied’ about it in his BBC Newsnight interview.

A message written by the late billionaire pedophile and published in a US court case shows he pitched Andrew, 63, as a potential investor in 2011 when the royal claimed to have ended all contact in 2010.

Last night Epstein’s victims called on the prince to speak to the FBI, which he has so far refused to do. It is unclear if he knew Epstein had mentioned him in the email exchange.

Their representative, US Attorney Spencer Kuvin, said the mirror“It appears Epstein either greatly oversold his relationship with Prince Andrew or the Duke may not have been entirely truthful about the end of his friendship.”

A victim of Epstein, who received compensation under the Epstein Victim Compensation Scheme, said: ‘The emails raise serious questions. Why would Jeffrey tout him as an investor if he was out of touch?

Prince Andrew said he cut off contact with Jeffrey Epstein after visiting him in New York in December 2010

In an email written to JP Morgan on August 31, 2011, Andrew suggested as a possible investment partner because “he is now allowed to make money”.

It was revealed in a lawsuit against the bank by the US Virgin Islands which claims it was “accomplice in the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein”.

In a counterclaim, JP Morgan accuses territory officials of taking money and favors from Epstein in exchange for turning a blind eye while he abused women on the island.

Speaking to the BBC’s Emily Maitlis in 2019, Andrew said he cut off contact with Epstein after visiting him in New York in December 2010.

Asked ‘Did you see him again or talk to him again?’ The Duke said, “No.

Epstein served nearly 13 months in prison in 2008 after being convicted of procuring a child for prostitution and sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.

But Prince Andrew continued his friendship with the offender after his release, although many other people cut ties with him and were notoriously photographed with him in New York in 2010.

In 2019 he told the BBC that his relationship with Epstein and the opportunities given to him were ‘very useful’ and said he could not remember the picture with Virginia Roberts – now known as by Virginia Giuffre – ‘has never been taken’.

Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in prison in 2019.

Epstein’s former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell – who was also a friend of Andrew’s – is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking.

The Palace declined to comment today. MailOnline has contacted JP Morgan and the US Virgin Islands.

It follows that the royal faces were driven from his Royal Lodge home by his brother, King Charles.

The monarch reportedly told her to vacate the 98-acre property – her home for over 20 years.

But he reportedly intends to honor the lease he signed in 2003 by refusing to vacate the £30million mansion and is determined to complete his 75-year lease.

A friend told the Mail On Sunday that Andrew feels depressed and ‘refuses to budge’ from the property, which is believed to have been reserved for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children.
