At the end of the song, John took a moment to speak and said, ‘One more next week!’. City staff started clapping right after.

So they all gathered to A picturewhere players and staff could beam with smiles alongside the singer.

John looked delighted to be part of the celebrations, as did City boss Pep Guardiola, who could be seen in the background before joining in the applause.

The 76-year-old had been playing the last show of his three-day stint at the AO Arena in Manchester earlier in the night when the incident happened.

The surprise encounter will be the perfect way to end the day for City, who have remained hopeful of securing a historic treble with victory over Man United.

Gundogan’s brace ensured Guardiola’s side will be full of motivation ahead of their Champions League final clash with Inter Milan next weekend.

The match at Wembley was settled after a thrilling encounter between the two Manchester giants.

German midfielder Gundogan opened the scoring in 12 seconds – the fastest in FA Cup final history – to give City an early lead.

But, after an assist on Jack Grealish, United were level thanks to a converted penalty from Portugal playmaker Bruno Fernandes.

However, despite United’s best efforts, it was City who emerged victorious thanks to Gundogan’s second goal of the game – a clumsy volley that tipped into the net.
