Elton, who was joined in the video by his husband David Furnish, then clicked his fingers and was suddenly dressed in an elaborate floral suit as he invited his followers to the virtual viewing experience.
Elton revealed what fans had to offer, explaining that it would be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and feature a stripped-down performance of Dua Lipa.

It is believed there are other names to be announced for the virtual lineup ahead of the April 25 event, the proceeds of which will be supported by Elton’s AIDS Foundation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone in unimaginable ways, but the Foundation is committed to ensuring that one pandemic does not end another.
To take the event globally, the Pre-Party Special will be run four times to meet the different time zones of the Oscars broadcast in a region: 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET on April 25 in the US.
7:00 pm GMT on April 26 in the UK; 7:00 p.m. AEST on April 26 in Australia and New Zealand; and an optional rerun at 7:00 p.m. PT on April 26 in the US.

100,000 seats are available in each region, meaning the event could raise up to $ 8 million for the Foundation.
