Elon Musk wants to use his sperm to plant a colony on Mars, it was claimed last night.
The father of 11 and founder of SpaceX has volunteered to start the breeding program to fulfill his lifelong goal of colonizing the Red Planet.
Mr Musk hopes his sperm will enable a million people to live on Mars within 20 years.
It seems to be part of their belief that people with high IQs should procreate to solve humanity’s underpopulation crisis.
Musk had six children with his first wife, Justine Wilson, one of whom died in infancy; three with his ex-girlfriend Grimes; and three with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain implant company Neuralink.
Billionaire Elon Musk wants to use his sperm to plant a colony on Mars and achieve his ambition of having a million people living on the Red Planet within 20 years.
Musk is said to have been obsessed with Mars since he was 10 years old, when he started reading science fiction.
The children conceived with Ms. Zillis were reportedly conceived using Mr. Musk’s sperm, which he donated to her.
The claim, published in the New York Times, is part of Musk’s obsession with Mars, which began when he was 10 years old and started reading science fiction.
Now 53 and with a fortune of $250 billion, making him one of the richest men in the world, he is stepping up his plans to make it a reality.
Musk has asked SpaceX’s industrial design team to create renderings of a city on Mars with a giant dome for communal living and smaller domes around it.
Engineers have discussed what materials could be used for the structures and Musk wants them to look “cool.”
A drawing shows a family with small children looking at the stars inside a dome.
Starship, which completed a successful soft landing test after being launched 130 miles into space last month, will be like “Noah’s Ark,” according to Musk.
According to the Times, Musk told SpaceX staff in April that a Mars colony would be self-sustaining in case rockets from Earth couldn’t reach it.
His Starship spacecraft was to be like ‘Noah’s Ark’ and would carry plants and animals on its first trip to Mars.
SpaceX has worked with plant-based meat alternatives company Impossible to provide food for the company’s cafeteria.
The food also functions as a potential source of protein for the Mars expedition.
Even Musk’s $44 billion purchase of X, formerly Twitter, is said to be an experiment in consensus-driven government, the New York Times said.
Speaking to Musk biographer Walter Isaacson, Ms Zilis said she was very happy that Musk was her sperm donor.
She said: ‘He really wants intelligent people to have children, so he encouraged me to do it.
‘If the choice is between an anonymous sperm donor or doing it with the person you admire most in the world, for me that was a pretty fucking easy decision.
“I can’t think of which genes I would prefer for my children.”
Elon Musk’s children with three different mothers, shown in the graphic, will now reportedly be joined by a new sibling, after Zilis and the billionaire welcomed a third child earlier this year.
