Elon Musk endorsed Donald Trump for reelection on Saturday night, shortly after shots were apparently fired at the former president’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was escorted off the stage by the Secret Service and was later seen with blood on his face.
“I fully support President Trump and look forward to his speedy recovery,” Musk said. wrote on Saturday X.
A few minutes later, Musk posted “The last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.” Former Twitter owner The X also shared a photo of Trump raising his fist with blood on his face, as Secret Service agents surrounded him.
Trump had barely finished his speech at Saturday’s rally when Secret Service agents surrounded him after hearing a series of noises. At press time, the Secret Service was investigating the noises but had not yet officially identified them as gunshots. Pennsylvania District Attorney Richard A. Musk made a donation to the pro-Trump America PAC on Friday, Bloomberg The report did not specify the amount donated by Musk, but the donation was characterized as a “sizable amount.” The PAC must disclose its donors by the end of next week.
Musk’s Friday donation was his first of this election cycle after he declined to endorse any presidential candidate in multiple interviews. In March, Musk He told former CNN anchor Don Lemon that he was “drifting away” from President Joe Biden when asked about his preferred candidate.
In a statement, the White House said Biden had received an “initial briefing regarding the incident.”
