The mother of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, is shedding new light on her son’s relationship with newly elected President Donald Trump after he went all-in for the Republican presidential candidate in the 2024 election.
Maye Musk appeared on Fox Business, where she talked about her son spending so much time with Trump, as well as her own experiences with the president-elect’s family.
“They get along great,” she told the pair, laughing.
In the run-up to the election, the tech billionaire actively campaigned for Trump to spend time in Pennsylvania and appear at his rallies with the president-elect, while spending some $277 million to help him get elected.
Since Trump’s victory, Musk has become a fixture at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, appearing with the newly elected president at a series of events and even sitting next to him at Thanksgiving.
“The funny thing is, Barron and Elon were talking about planets at Thanksgiving dinner. He is 18 years old. They discussed all the different planets and why Mars is the best place to start a new civilization,” Musk said of her son and Trump’s youngest son.
She said she was also very impressed with the youngest Trump.
“Trump simply loves someone he can trust completely and who has no alternative motives,” she claimed of their relationship.

Maye himself also shows up at Trump events. She called the president-elect’s family delightful, friendly and interesting and said she looks forward to spending more time with new First Lady Melania.
She argued that Trump wants things to be open and honest, and that he “won’t be mean to people.”
During the interview, the 76-year-old talked more about her son and her own shift to the right.
“Biden and the White House continued to ignore, investigate or denounce Elon and his companies,” she said.
“That made me very angry because he was just trying to do good,” she continued. “They’re doing everything they can to put obstacles in his way.”
“I was so angry before the election, and now I feel like the whole world has opened up, not just to America, but certainly to the whole world,” she said. ‘There is so much more happiness.’

Her son is now asked by Trump to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) together with Vivek Ramaswamy.
The move has raised concerns about conflicts of interest for the billionaire, as he could work to cut the agencies that regulate his own business ventures while also benefiting from government contracts.
Cavuto asked the elder Musk what she makes of accusations that Musk will use his position in the Trump administration to advance his own business interests.
“I think I’ve been hearing that for 15 years from the traditional media, or from what I call the dishonest media, so obviously no one is listening or they wouldn’t be doing so well,” she claimed.

Cavuto wondered when the Musks decided to get behind Trump’s political campaign.
“Well, I don’t know when Elon made the change, but I have to say when the Twitter files came out and we discovered that the FBI was paying millions to Twitter to remove Republicans from this site that we didn’t know was a Democratic site . website,” she said.
These comments follow misleading statements from the tech billionaire and others claiming that payments were related to censorship, even though the law requires the government to reimburse companies for requests for content, documents and other information.
